Magali Michaut

Data scientist & performing singer-songwriter, Magali Michaut is a modern troubadour, exploring and presenting science and music around the world. Blending together influences from classical music, French chansons and folk ballads, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentist, Magali presents poetic texts and transports you into the streets of Paris and around the world. After playing violin in symphonic orchestras in Paris, Cambridge, Toronto and Amsterdam, Magali debuted on the Dutch songwriter scene in 2014, performing her songs in English and French on guitar, piano and ukulele. Her 2016 debut EP Bonjour has since led to performances in 12 countries. Relocated to Denmark in 2017, Magali performed at Alice for the ORA Audition Days. She has recorded her debut album Impressionniste in Copenhagen with talented musician and released it in May 2022 with Inouie Distribution. “Et vidunderligt album!” said Katrine Ring in Natsværmeren on P2 (DR). Magali has founded the association Les Chansons françaises au Danemark, organising events, karaokes and concerts with French speaking artists. She also works with the Swedish duo Le lac long 814 and on the adaptation of poems from Guillaume Apollinaire into songs with composer Daniel Östersjö (EP Toujours Apollinaire released on July 2, 2021). Magali is also a researcher working at the University of Copenhagen on cancer and stem cell data analysis.
