Educated at Oxford University (2008-12) with Robert Saxton and Philip Cooke, and the Royal Danish Academy of Music (2013-18) with Hans Abrahamsen, Niels Rosing-Schow, Jeppe Just Christensen and Bent Sørensen. Also studied saxophone at the Royal College of Music, London, with Martin Robertson (2008-11).
Currently set to debut from RDAM in Feb 2018. Worked with ensembles such as the New Music Players (UK), the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra (DK), Athelas Sinfonietta (DK), SCENATET (DK), Ensemble Limen (IT), Ensemble E-MEX (DE), and others. Music played in Denmark, UK, Poland, Italy, Iceland, the US, and China.
As well as writing for others, I also perform many works myself – both on saxophone and with other methods (for example, live drawing, or video improvisation). As a performer, I have been featured in several venues in Copenhagen, as well as being invited to perform in Reykjavik in 2015. I will be performing at 2017’s KLANG festival in their opening concert in Tivoli Concert Hall.

Det kan I forvente
As a mentor, I would bring an individual-focused approach that’s concerned with finding a unique way of writing music, backed up with a strong foundation in theory and knowledge of others’ music.
I find the best way to learn about music is to live it – be that writing, listening, or playing – and I believe that improvisation is a powerful tool in discovering how your music should be.
By discussing an individual’s musical focus and digging a little bit into what makes a student ‘tick’ and what they respond to, it is possible to isolate their artistic concerns and guide them in the right direction.
A typical session would involve discussion (both of the student’s music and of other people’s), playing some music together, perhaps even writing together and considering new approaches that would work for the individual.
The focus is always on the product and not the style or method – nevertheless, finding the right style or method is crucial, and will be developed over time.
Unfortunately, I am not able to teach in Danish, so all sessions would be in English.
